Frequently asked

Who needs GCAA 4.1.G training?
Personnel responsible for the planning of aircraft loading. That means load controllers, ground dispatchers and load masters who decide where consignments are stowed on the aircraft and who produce the loading instruction and the NOTOC.
How long is the 4.1.G course?
Initial training runs 1 day at the DGR Aviation centre in Port Saeed, Dubai, with in-house delivery available for load control units that need to keep a duty roster covered.
Why do load planners need dangerous goods training?
Because loading decisions determine whether incompatible substances are segregated correctly, whether stowage restrictions are respected, and whether the flight crew receive accurate written notification of what is on board. Errors at the planning stage cannot be corrected once the aircraft is loaded and dispatched.
Does the course cover the Notification to Captain (NOTOC)?
Yes. NOTOC is central to the load planning function, because the load controller is the source of the information the flight crew rely on. Raise your operator’s NOTOC format and procedures during the session so the practical work maps onto the documents your team actually issues.
What is the difference between 4.1.G and 4.1.E?
4.1.G is a planning function: deciding the load plan and issuing loading instructions. 4.1.E is a physical handling function: storing, loading and unloading in the warehouse and on the ramp. A load controller and a ULD loader need different certificates.
Does this course cover segregation of incompatible dangerous goods?
Yes. Segregation and stowage restrictions are the practical core of load planning for dangerous goods. Bring your aircraft types and typical DG traffic to the session so the instructor can work through the segregation decisions your planners face.
How long is the certificate valid?
All dangerous goods training certifications are valid for two years. Recurrent training should be scheduled before expiry, since load control staff apply these rules on every flight and regulation updates directly affect stowage decisions.
How do I book a place on the 4.1.G course?
Use the enquiry form on the course page, or contact DGR Aviation on +971 4 267 6745 or +971 56 534 9234, or at info@dgraviation.com, to confirm upcoming dates.
Can 4.1.G be delivered at our facility?
Yes. This function is regularly delivered on-site across the UAE, on your shift pattern and using your own documentation as the worked examples. The approval, assessment and certificate are identical to the classroom course.
What is the pass mark?
80% for a pass and 90% for a distinction, assessed on Knowledge, Skills and Attitude by the training provider. Where applicable, an employer assessment should be completed within 12 months.
How do I confirm this is the right function for my staff?
